Last night was ok, I was up and down and in and out of sleep. Thankfully each time I got up it was easy to go back to sleep. I slept in until breakfast at 10:30am because I figured if I’m going to Parrot Cay to lay out in the sun I might as well spend my extra time in the bed. Breakfast was oatmeal with some toppings on the side (brown sugar, cinnamon, blueberries, strawberries and walnuts), fruit and bread. The taxi would arrive to pick us up at 11:30am to take us to the ferry to get to Parrot Cay. Parrot Cay is also pronounced like Parrot Key.
Parrot Cay is a private island where people go to get away and relax (because there’s really nothing to do). Celebrities have been known to go and the wealthy have private homes on the island. There is only one resort on the island called COMO Parrot Cay. We bought a day pass to go and enjoy the amenities at the property. Our taxi/ride arrived early and at 11:30am we were off. We got dropped off and waited in the waiting area for the ferry. The ferry came at noon and we got on and enjoyed the 25 minute ride to get there.
Once at Parrot Cay to me, after looking around I expected more (I was a bit disappointed). I guess I was expecting something grander but it seemed a bit low key and just overall for me underwhelming. We claimed some beach chairs and we all sprawled out (this is how I at least will be spending my time here). Ezgi and Lisa eventually got in the water and Auntie Cheryl dipped her feet in.
I knew I probably wasn’t going to have lunch there because the food was unreasonably expensive so I would just hold out until dinner but Auntie Cheryl gave me one of her cheeseburger eggrolls (it was really good too). That’s all we did while there was lounge. Ezgi got in the pool and we all checked out some of the gift shops onsite (two of them) which were highly overpriced. Even with 50% off, I couldn’t afford the things they offered.
Curious as to room costs and what a room at this exclusive hotel looked like, Auntie Cheryl and I were shown a Terrace room. At $1500/night now during off season it was not worth it. It was nice but there’s no way I would ever pay that much for that room. Back at the pool we lounged until it was time to head back to Providenciales. Some advice, no need to go to Parrot Cay, save your money.
We were picked up from the ferry stop at Providenciales and here came the rain, we just made it. By the time we were dropped off back at the villa it had stopped. Tired, I helped Ezgi take her braids out and then went and showered before dinner. Dinner was set for 7pm and we had Pad Thai with vegetables and it was delicious! We had enough food this time, even to where there was some left over. After dinner we watched a few episodes of The Four Seasons on Netflix and after 2-3 episodes we called it a night.
