Turks and Caicos: Day 2-Indulgence At It’s Finest

I didn’t get the best sleep last night, I woke up and wasn’t feeling well so I took some meds and laid back down. I got a chance to see the sunrise but was too tired and lazy to take a photo (plus it was foggy/cloudy). I got up around 9:15am and got ready for the morning. The idea was to be poolside now before it got hot later in the day but yet the sun was out now and it was still hot (thank goodness for the breeze). I did that until breakfast at 10:30am.

On the menu was bacon, eggs, sweet potato, fruit and toast. It became clear that there wasn’t really enough bacon so we rationed that out (we eat up some meat). I’m not a fan of sweet potato’s but Chef Ann’s were very good. Chef Ann is one of the house chefs and she is from Thailand. (Her rate daily is $500 with a $200 tip (way above my pay grade but good for her)). While chatting it was decided that we will go to Parrot Cay tomorrow for a day trip which is a private island that the rich people go to. It was $150 plus a 37% tax but I figured we’re here we might as well go and see what it’s about. It does give us an opportunity to get out of the villa which is what I wanted because I wanted to see what else was around.

Afterwards we sat around/got in the pool and chatted while soaking up the sun and Ezgi went out snorkeling (she saw a few fish). Chef Ann made us some margaritas in which I had two because they were really good. Around 3pm, we decided to walk to the nearby beach bar to which we found empty. Someone was called and before you knew it the chef and bartender there appeared. I was hungry again so my aunt and I decided to split a turkey club and fries. I tried a conch fritter (not for me, I didn’t like it) and got a gin drink and a small shot of Turks and Caicos Bambarra Gold rum (which I bought a small bottle of yesterday). The rum wasn’t bad but the bartender warned it might sneak up on me. Ezgi continued snorkeling and the rest of us sat and listened to music while talking. We ran into a group from Houston briefly celebrating a birthday.

Dinner was at 7pm so we left the beach bar around 5:40pm and let me tell you, I went back, laid down and fell asleep. Granted I only slept for about 30 minutes but those 30 minutes felt better than my entire sleep from the night before. It was so good I actually thought I overslept for dinner. I got up at 6:40pm and got myself together and headed up around 7pm. Dinner was homemade Thai food that Chef Ann prepared for us. After finding out the soup had coconut milk in it (which thankfully I spit out before swallowing because I’m allergic to nuts which includes coconuts-I’ve realized I need to mention coconuts despite my saying I have a nut allergy because people tend to overlook that for some reason), I opted to get more of the chicken dish (which again because we like meat didn’t look like it was enough for everyone). Thankfully there were other dishes to choose and share from and the food was delicious!

After dinner, three of us sat outside listening to music while Auntie Cheryl watched the latest Madea movie on Netflix. I gazed into the sky as I watched it get dark and see the clouds pass. Afterwhile all you had to do was look up to see the few visible stars in the sky. I pulled out my SkyView app just to play around and it turned into a search party in the sky. If anyone were looking they’d see us holding our phones up to the sky walking around the house looking intently gazing upward. We did spot the moon, Aries, Piscies, Sagittarious, Capricorn, Saturn, Venus and Mars. By the end of that we were ready to call it a night in which I retreated to my room.
