Day 4: Create your self-made bracelet souvenir from Paris
Last night’s sleep was a good one and my mom and I woke up feeling refreshed. Our only activity for the day begins at 11am so we didn’t have to wake up really early. We get ready and leave for the train station but on the way my mom spots a bus that we could hop on (which we took for I stop). On the bus, my 5 day ticket (which doesn’t expire until the end of tomorrow) didn’t work. Now when you come to Paris I will say you will do some walking (especially if public transportation is your go to). When you transfer trains hopefully you’re not in a hurry as some of our transfer walks have taken us up to 7 minutes to walk to.
At some of these transfer points we have to use our tickets to go through to another type of train line and when we got to a point like that today suddenly my ticket wouldn’t work. We went to a Ticket Services counter where the agent just gave me a new one for the remaining days left I was supposed to have. We get ready to go through making our way to catch another train and mine worked but my mom’s didn’t. We went back to the same man and he did the same thing for her by giving her a new ticket.
I messaged the host Gulya of the Airbnb experience that we would be about 15 minutes late due to ticketing issues (which she said was fine). We finally at 11:20am at The Nice Bracelet. The space was big and there were tables with all sizes, styles, shapes and colors of beads. Gulya offered us drinks and showed/told us how the process would work and then let us get our beads. With more than enough choices, we took our time and I tried scanning all options.
We would grab a few beads, sit down, design some on our tray and then get back up looking for more as the vision began coming to life. Once done Gulya tested to make sure the bracelet wouldn’t be too big or too small. Mine was too big so I had to take some beads off and my mom’s was too small so she had to add some. The end result was a beautifully unique creation that is our own souvenir from Paris. This was an excellent money well spent experience that I would recommend to anyone visiting.
After our experience I told my mom I wanted to go to the mall so we went back to Galeries Lafayette. I thought the mall here was like a several mall with different stores but it’s more like a big store with different brands (and these brands were not budget friendly) so, I opted for H&M across the street. By now we were hungry and hadn’t eater yet so we made our way to a thai place on our food list stopping at 3 different brasseries (or pastry shops) along the way just to find that it was closed.
Instead we headed home and realized on the way there most restaurants are open early, then close, then open again in the evening. Once home we ate a little bit and took a few hours to relax. Now for food, we decided we’d go to a Japanese place on our list 5 minutes walking distance from us. That’s just what we did and ordered our food to go to eat back at the house. That was the best decision as we both agree this is the best meal so far that we’ve had (and we have enough leftover for tomorrow). For dessert we’ll have a pastry and some tea. We get to really sleep in tomorrow as our last activities conclude then.
